A Special Thanks To The Composers Of The Past!

I just want to send a special thank you to all of the music makers and composers of the past.  It is such a great responsibility to be the one that makes music that will be the back drop and soundtrack of our lives.  I have been watching music videos from the late 80’s tonight and realize that great music helps to shape the memories we take deep into adulthood.  By watching these videos I am not only realizing my current age, but I could actually remember what I was doing when these songs were released.  I got flash backs of people, places and things that matched the time periods of the release of those songs.  That shows the power of music, memory and the feelings that great compositions generate within us.  A Special Thanks To The Composers Of The Past!

The artists and music producers of today must realize they carry such a great responsibility along with their gift.  The music is like magic that has the power to transform time into a living movie with a soundtrack added to it.  I am grateful for having grown up in a time where some of the greatest artists and producers were creating their works.  Making music and exposing it to the general public gives the composer or artist the power to determine the emotional score that is added to the lives of human beings.  When I was watching those music videos I was remembering my youth, dreams, past expectations, and aspirations I had for the future.  I even remember how innocent and naive my thinking of the past was in regards to how the my future would turn out.  If music (at it’s best) can affect and influence our concept of time and space, it must have great power based entirely on the talent of the composer.  The power to infuse our life experiences with it’s quality, tone, feeling, melody and arrangement.  Music has the power to place a permanent bookmark on the different time periods in our lives.

To be a musician today is a privilege because of the countless lives that are affected by their words and sounds.  An artist or composer can lift their audience all the way up mentally or have them constantly descend from the mind perspective.  The responsibility and power of the musician goes so far as to allow their music to attach itself to the memories in our lives.  The more memorable the music, the more power it has to compel us to remember what we were doing at the time the music is released.  The memories attached to this music become a movie with a soundtrack that will be remembered by us for the rest of our lives.  I want to send a very special thank you to the composers & artists from all walks of life who are knowingly or unknowingly creating music that will be the backdrop and underlying score for our lifetime.  That is not something that should be taken lightly at all.  May this be inspiration for current composers to make the greatest music possible so that our lives will be enhanced by the musical scoring you are orchestrating right now.
