I would like to leave my mark on this earth without negative competition as part of the journey.  I have always believed that the greatest competitive race should be to overcome the weaknesses within ourselves.  Quality is the most important objective when trying to humbly leave your mark.  If we are trying to accomplish something and the atmosphere of the environment we are in isn’t right, our productivity will be affected.  Competition with self is priority 1, while calmly scanning the important attributes of possible contenders.  We want to create with the highest quality in mind and still leave our greatest work behind.  So we can say, I just want to humbly leave my mark!

How many of us are living our lives in a way where in the end, we will have nothing of great value to leave behind?  If we leave nothing of value after we are gone, it will seem like our lives were non-productive.  Many of us just go through life as though leaving a proper legacy or a body of work is unimportant.  I am not trying to be morbid, but it is unfair to future generations to let all of our knowledge, insight, and wisdom go with us when we leave this earth plane.  Whether it be a note, letter, diary, book (published or not), photography, poetry, music, art work: what imprint will you and I leave for future generations to get knowledge from.  We have the power to spark a mind and more, whether we are here or not.    I just want to humbly leave my mark!

This post is being written to be a major point of motivation for all of us who have a tendency to procrastinate.  Procrastination can lead to a slow unintentional wasting of a lifetime.  What gives us the right to waste a lifetime, when it was initially given to us as a major precious gift.  A precious gift is to be cherished, and preserved.  It is not to be disposed.  The thing that we are accomplishing today: good, bad or indifferent will be what we leave for future generations to survey and study.  The quality of our work will be the footprints left in the sand for future generations to inspect and study.

Some of us are so consumed with every day concerns that we have absolutely no concept of what kind of footprints we will leave in sand after we leave this earth.  The Egyptians left the pyramids, Da Vinci left artwork, Duke Ellington left over 1000 original compositions, Steve Jobs left re-imagined, cellular phone, tablet and music industries.  The list goes on and on and on.  All of us as human beings have a right to leave something spectacular or even simple as a sign of the importance of our existence here on earth.  It is not just the privileged or famous that have a right to do so.  This is a reminder that we should all strive to have something to leave as our mark in life.  We should be able to say: I Just Want To Humbly Leave My Mark!  How do you feel about this?
