The storyline of The HOBBIT is built around the Kingdom of Dwarfs called Erebor. The character Bilbo is sought by the wizard : “Gandalf the Grey” to join a team of 13 dwarves to assist in reclaiming the Kingdom of Erebor. These 14 dwarves encounter numerous Goblins, Orcs, Wargs, Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters, and Sorcerers on their path to victory. The HOBBIT was a book that was a very relevant grade school classic for some of us. I say that to say for those of us who have not read the books lately, these characters and creatures are not familiar to the average lay person. This film will be shot and directed by the same team who shot the ever successful Lord Of The Rings. The HOBBIT will also be shot in 3D. The musical score for the film was done by Howard Shore. Howard also did the scores for: The Lord of the Rings: Two Towers, The Fellowship of the Ring, and the Return of the King, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and the movie Philadelphia which starred Denzel Washington. This installment of The HOBBIT is only the first part of a 2 part series. Both films will be shot consecutively with the 2nd film to be released in 2013.
