The Kardashians: A Different Look Part 1
Viewing the opening episode of the Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries wedding, the average person could get caught up in the pageantry of the event itself. It would be very easy to even get caught up in the personalities of the show and not the ever present undercurrent constantly bubbling up in conversation throughout their seasonal episodes. There are some key points that are never discussed in an in-depth manner in the media. Due to the business savvy of Kris Jenner and Ryan Seacrest the Kardashians have been able to turn their media notoriety into a serious business empire. They have been able to convert their reality shows into an all year round money making machine. The Kardashians have been able to cross promote their retail stores, clothing lines, designer jewelry, perfume brands on their various shows all year even through repeat showings. These weddings episodes are strategically running commercials for the Courtney and Kim show slated to air in November. Kim Kardashian is even now looking to open their clothing store “DASH” in the United Arab Emirates. Kim is also ready on October 14th to open the famous milkshake bar “Millions of Milkshakes” with her mother Kris Jenner at the Dubai Mall. This basically constitutes the beginnings of international business.
The Kardashian’s have caught the attention of the public and are strategically striking while the iron is hot. Many can criticize and disagree with certain aspects of their lives, but you cannot refute the power of their relentless business grind. You can be sure the wedding had various sponsors that provided many of the items for cross promotion advertising purposes which were not paid for. One interesting scene on the wedding show part 1 depicts Klohe’s concern over Kris Humphries not signing a prenuptial agreement. She states that she wants to make sure that the brand is protected. She wants to make sure that in the event of a divorce they all are protected. We can learn some things from the Kardashian business model and it has very little to with their public image. You are literally watching a family business unfold before your eyes. For some it is just a reality show, to others there is much more going on beneath the surface.
