Trapped In The Song!

When you have been graced by the timeless spell of a magical song you can lose consciousness of where you are at.  You helplessly become trapped within the confines of the song.  You are trapped in the song when you can forget your problems, current environment, and even time itself when the right music comes on.  Some music is so powerful that everything you are doing seems to move in slow motion and the melody, bass, strings, etc. of the song actually draw you into its environment.  The average everyday song will not make such an indelible mark on our brains.  The song that speaks strongest to our souls, and has the energy to literally thrill us, has that power.  To be trapped in the song is to be held captive, mesmerized, or even hypnotized by the lyrics, melody and innate feeling of the music.  Every time you play that song or music, it traps you and sends your mind, body and soul into that special zone.

Music is an important part of culture.  It’s effects on the mind and can be like electricity in that it can easily change our mind-state with the flip of a switch.  Storms can be raging in our lives, but the right song can trap you into its script, and melodically calm your mind enough so that you can think freely to see a new clear vision.  The pulse of the right music can trap you into its meditative groove and feeling.  When you are trapped in the aura of a song, you can even take on the characteristics of the music.  It’s rhythm becomes yours and you become one with it.  The results of some of these listening events can give birth to new ideas.

So do not believe anyone who tries to convince you that music is a lightweight trivial activity.  If the song is correct, it can literally trap your mind and remove it from your surrounding environment, hold you captive and deposit whatever information it contains into your mental garden.  Therefore those who make music as a hustle will not be able to hold anyone captive.  They may entertain you for a moment, but true music lovers will know how to choose the right gem to intentionally to set their minds free.  Being Trapped in the Song can be very real.
