New Movie: DARK SHADOWS May 2012!

The new movie DARK SHADOWS will be released on May 11, 2012.  DARK SHADOWS has been directed by Tim Burton.  Tim Burton has also directed the following films: BATMAN (1989), BATMAN RETURNS (1992), EDWARD SCISSORHANDS (1990), PLANET OF THE APES (2001), MARS ATTACKS (1996), and ALICE IN WONDERLAND (2010).  The screenplay was written by Seth Grahame-Smith.  The new movie DARK SHADOWS is based on a 1966-1971 soap opera which was also called DARK SHADOW and was gothic in style.

The story of the new movie DARK SHADOWS is based on the Collins Family who sail from Liverpool, England in the year 1752 to North America.  The son Barnabas (played by Johnny Depp) grows up and ends up becoming a wealthy youth in Collinsport, Maine.  Barnabas is known to have a flare for the ladies at this time.  Barnabas is also the master of Collinwood Manor.  Going with the gothic theme of the film Barnabas breaks the heart of a Witch, who by vengeance turns him into a vampire.  The witch also has him buried alive.  In the year 1972, Barnabas happens to be accidently released from his coffin.  Once released he finds his manor in disrepair.  It happens to be occupied by relatives of Collins.

Danny Elfman has scored many movies and DARK SHADOWS is one of them.  Danny Elfman has also scored some of these films: BATMAN (1989), DARK MAN (1989), DICK TRACY (1990), BATMAN RETURNS (1992), SPIDER MAN (2002), MEN IN BLACK (1997), and MISSION IMPOSSIBLE (1996).

The new movie DARK SHADOWS is a horror suspense type film and wil be l coming to theatres on May 11, 2012.  The film will also be released in the IMAX format.  DARK SHADOWS will be distributed by Warner Brothers Pictures.  We will see how the new movie DARK SHADOWS unfolds upon its release.
