New Movie: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo!

Daniel Craig from the James Bond Series is the starring actor in the new movie: “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” to be released on December 21, 2011.  Daniel will portray the character journalist Mikael Blomkvist.  The plot entails journalist Mikael Blomkvist traveling to an island located in the extreme north of Sweden.  He is trying to remove himself from general population just atfer  a libel conviction.  He is sentenced to 3 months in prison and was left to pay damages.  On this island there is an unsolved murder of a young girl (Harriet) whose killing  (40 years ago) still haunts her uncle who is an industrialist.  Mikael Blomkvist is asked by this same industrialist to write the Vanger family history, which includes the murder of his great-niece Harriet.  Blomkvist moves into the Vanger estate, begins his research into the history of the Vanger family and Harriet’s disappearance.  As Mikael is living in this Swedish Cottage, he is drawn into the investigation of this murder.  This investigation leads him into the lifestyles and secret habits of the rich and powerful of that family, which connects him with the tattooed Lisbeth Salander.

“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”! is based on a book that was an award- winning crime novel by Swedish author and journalist Stieg Larsson.  The exact title of this movie is the same as the first book in a trilogy which is called the “Millenium Series”.  Author Stieg Larsson died in 2004 and left these 3 unpublished books which when finally released became world wide bestsellers in Europe and the United States.  The Budget for this film is $100 million and it will be distributed by Columbia Pictures.  The actors in the film will include:

David Fincher started his career in film-making working on the special effects team of Star Wars Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.  It did not hurt that George Lucas was his neighbor when growing up in Marin County, California.  In the beginning of his career David Fincher also directed music videos for:  Madonna, Sting, Michael Jackson, Aerosmith, and George Michael.
