Peer Pressure at any Age….

A person can be an adult and still be subject to severe peer pressure.  It is not just children or teenagers who are subject to effects of peer pressure.  It can be alive and well deep into our adult years.  We may think we are really grown and have far surpassed the need to be subject to peer pressure.  Really?  Now this does not apply to everyone, but we all have seen adult peer pressure in action.

Do we not recall the individuals who try to step up their wardrobe, to imitate co-workers who in the end still won’t accept them.  There are others who change how they speak when in the company of someone they are trying to impress.  Still yet others may change hair styles, or even cars just to be more acceptable to a certain group of people.  To fit into the group whether at work, amongst family, in organizations, or among friends (for some) there is still an intense need to be accepted.  We may accept beliefs and ideas that are not conducive to where we want to go in life just be accepted.  It takes a lot of inner strength to operate in society and not gear our minds to want to fit in.  Independent thought is required so that we can have a reality that is not the average.  To achieve what you are here to accomplish it may require that you have to go against the grain and not fit in at all.  New groundbreaking moves are not made by followers.  Going against the grain in your thinking may be the path that will have the most treasures and hidden discoveries that will take you to the pinnacle of success.  That type of thought only resides within our hearts (following our inner voice), not in how well we can follow someone who appears to be successful or more popular for the moment.  That appearance can be false!
