Many of us as individuals living on planet earth today tend to look to the past to locate and identify the best times in our lives.  Some of us look back to our childhood and see that time as the most memorable for us.  For others high school stands out as a place and time that marks the best times in our lives.  The moment our minds tend to zero in on seem to be a time not rooted in the present moment.  How many of us are looking forward to an experience in the future that has not happened?

Even though we have grand memories of times that have long gone, we can bring the enthusiasm and excitement of those times here and now.  Sometimes we can get stuck in the past reflecting on better days, that we forget we have the power and right to celebrate the moment we are living in right now.  Everyday can have the tone and feeling of a holiday if we give it that intent.  We don’t have to celebrate only on the days we are told it is OK to be festive.  What happens to the moments that are “in between” holidays and are far removed from the past or future?  The “in between” moments can make you feel empty because they are constant and not just a few assorted days.  We have the power to elect the days we can celebrate and to what extent.  This is our right as a human being.  We don’t have to wait for society to tell us when to have a complete burst of happiness and joy.  Why don’t we take our power and make the life we want for ourselves?  Could it be that we are so used to outside forces dictating when we can feel thrilled and be in a celebratory mood?

If we have been blessed with a life, why can’t we be the complete designers of the events in our lives?  I feel that following without questioning why we are doing what we are doing, is like giving up power.  A person who is a designer of how they spend the time in a day, will not feel burdened by constantly following traditions.  We will have the inner autonomy to make the best time in our lives Right Now, not yesterday or in the future.  Our best time is what we decide it to be, not a comparison to what others have followed because they could not think outside of the box they were born into.  Do you believe you can create your own daily holiday and make the present moment the best time in your life?  Don’t you think that we should bypass, past reflections and future thoughts in order to make sure the best time in our lives is right now?
