The Wolf Of Wall Street: Martin Scorcese: November 2013

Director Martin Scorcese has finished production on the highly anticipated film: The Wolf Of Wall Street.  This movie is based on the autobiography of Jordan Belfort which carries the same name as the film.  The movie is based on the life of Mr. Belfort who was a wealthy Long Island penny stockbroker.  Jordan Belfort was born in Queens, NY in 1962.  In the 1990’s Jordan formed a brokerage firm called Stratton Oakmont which had been considered to be what is termed a Boiler Room.  A Boiler Room is a business structure based around an outbound call center selling corrupt investments via telephone.  This is where Jordan Belfort was selling Penny Stocks.  This firm was an inspiration for the 2000 film Boiler Room.  Jordan refused to participate in a securities fraud case in which he would have to implicate various parties.  His refusal caused him to spend 20 months in prison.

The screenplay for: The Wolf Of Wall Street was written by Terence Winter.  Filming for the movie begin on August 8, 2012 in New York.  The filming took place in Closter, New Jersey and Ardsley, New York.  Thelma Schoonmaker is the official editor of the film.  The Wolf Of Wall Street will be shot in Digital 2D instead of the film format.  The budget for the film is $100 million and it will be distributed by Paramount Pictures.  The film is being scored by Howard Shore who has done the music for: The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy in which he won 3 Academy Awards.  Howard Shore has also scored: Gangs Of New York, The Aviator and the Twilight Saga: Eclipse.  The cast for The Wolf Of Wall Street include: Leonardo Dicaprio, Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, Jon Favreau, Jon Bernthal, Kyle Chandler, Ethan Suplee, Rob Reiner, Spike Jonze, Shea Whigham, Jean Dujardin and many more.

The release date for The Wolf Of Wall Street is November 15th, 2013 in the United States.  We will see what becomes of the renewed pairing of Martin Scorcese and Leonardo Dicaprio.   The Wolf Of Wall Street is coming to a theater near you.
