The DARK KNIGHT RISES is the latest edition to the BATMAN Franchise.  The script is written by Christopher F. Nolan, Jonathan Nolan, David S. Goyer, and Bob Kane.  The film is also again directed by Director: Christopher Nolan.  This film is scheduled to be released on July 20, 2012.  The budget for the film was approximately $250 million.  The DARK KNIGHT RISES was filmed in: Scotland, England, UK, Pennsylvania, Illinois, New York, California, USA, India and Romania.  Some of the cast of the DARK KNIGHT RISES include:

  • Tom Hardy as:            Bane
  • Joseph Gordon -Levitt as:        John Blake
  • Ann Hathaway as:           Selina Kyle / Catwoman

The story of The DARK KNIGHT RISES takes place about 8 years following the death of Harvey Dent and the widespread antics of the Joker.  Since the condemnation and total capturing of BATMAN has happened, a new threat has arisen within the City of Gotham.  This terrorist character Bane is taking advantage of a city without BATMAN and has up to this point eluded the police department of Gotham.  Something must be done to eradicate this threat.  Even the CATWOMAN (Selina Kyle) is waiting for the rising of the DARK KNIGHT.  The DARK KNIGHT must confront his new, well equipped, opponent and nemesis: Bane.

The composer of the film Hans Zimmer wanted to use chants as part of the musical score in his preparing for the film.  Hans Zimmer has prepared a section within the movies website (UJAM) where fans can be creative, chant and create recordings of this right on the sight.  He is designing the sound of a worldwide chant for this new film and it must sound authentic.

Director Christopher Nolan is using IMAX technology to capture certain parts of the film which amount to 40 to 50 minutes.  The film was initially to be shot in 3D but that idea was nixed.  With the quality of the last film & soundtrack being so high, lets hope that The DARK KNIGHT RISES continues the saga properly.
